Dear Cecelia,
you have related something under the subject CHILDHOOD MEMORIES, a subject initiated by Octavio Romano in a posting which is not about his childhood memories at all, but is instead a childish personal attack aimed specifically at me,  a veiled cuento only aimed at making Pedro Romero the butt of Octavio's stupid joke.  Why this attack? In retaliation for legitimate criticism (I believe) I put forth about the weak "art" Octavio continues to crank out.
Octavio's personal attack does not distress me, however.  What bothers me, though, is that a potent and heartfelt subject for all of us on this lista, namely CHILDHOOD MEMORIES,  should be perverted into a vehicle for Octavio Romano's grade-school need to ridicule those who criticize his "oevre".
I have, in the past 9 months, posted quite a bit of satire related to my analysis of Alma Lopez's "our lady", and for good reason.  Touted by the Museum of New Mexico as a representation of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a representation of "changes" in our culture, the piece deserves serious questioning of its merit, and of the attitude which produced it.    Supporters of her work on this lista ask me to believe that her piece is indeed an interpretation of La Virgen, and I respond that such is like asking me to believe that the miscreation Dr. Frankenstein produced in his lab actually was transformed into a human being.  A collection of parts parading around as "an interpretation" of a Persona.  No, I can not respect the Frankenstein Guadalupe titled "Our Lady".
Cecelia, I was honestly wondering what you think about all this.

Hey Romanus!
I thought Sedeño was your buddy?
Especially the way you two were tag teaming up against Alma and her Lupe.
Your common hatred for her ain't enough to sustain the relationship, huh?
Too bad...you two really fit together.
Now who are you gonna play with?
