Hi Ms. Lopez,
I am a Chicana artist like yourself. My name is Veronica Blanco "Roni".
I am glad to see that as a woman you are not afraid to express yourself or
be repressed by the art world which is dominated by the men. Also by our own
cultural which are mainly chatholic. I believe as other artist's do, the need
to express our own individuality by using our minds and creativity into something
for all to share , whether it is appealing to others or not. It is what YOU
created and feel strongly about. I live in San Diego, Ca. and I am proud to
see other Chicana artist stand-up and be seen and heard and not set aside
afraid of what others think and try to keep us quiet. We as Chicanca's are
sexy, lovable and love to be loved, career minded, educated, and have to teach
the close minded individuals of all cultures, first of our own chicano counter
parts. We as Mexican American women struggle in our everyday lives, (i.e,
children , work) and need to tap into our mind and personality and re-discover
ourselves without being afraid. I thank you for being who you are. Keep up
the work. You have inspired many, including myself. Veronica Blanco "Roni"

"motherearth with a blanket of stone"
("cool" she says)
"the stone blanket that's covering her shows her strength, that she's strong"
"the flowers symbolize she's motherearth"
"she looks like a strong, bold woman in contact with the earth"
I thought this was deep!!!
